The word safe denotes free from risk, danger, injury, and harm. But to drivers like me, it has a deeper meaning.
From day 1 of my driving experience, I tried hard to be always on the safe side and I am still trying to do so. I am lucky that I was only involved in minor road mishaps because of my driving.
One of the things that auto insurance companies consider is driving history. From that, they will assess an applicant whether she is a low risk or high risk driver. Fortunately I am a low risk driver, and it means I am paying lower premiums than the others.
I also installed security system in my car. Qualifying for a good driver discount and safe vehicle discount means I am enjoying the privilege of getting lower insurance premium without sacrificing my coverage.
It is a good thing that there are discount rates offered by these companies to motivate drivers to undertake course of actions so that they can avail of these different discounts. But I hope some companies can improve the quality of their services.
I have a problem with the insurance company where I got my first policy. Processing for claims took longer than I thought. Getting a cheap car insurance is just what I wanted. It was just only when I processed my claim that settling for a cheap one is not a good idea.
Because of that experience, I decided to shop around for a better insurance company. It was a huge mistake on my part the first time that I did not get auto insurance quotes. It made comparing and contrasting insurance policies faster and easier when I utilized this free service of insurance companies.
When I finally chose the policy I want, I checked the company¡¯s history. I don¡¯t like repeating the experience I had before. Processing for claims should not be a pain on the ass.
